Bili class trip to London
From 22nd to 26th September, Bili students from years 9 and 10 spent a wonderful and very fulfilling week in London.
Accompanied by Mr. Krause, Ms. Wallin and Mr. Zylla, the students crossed the Tower Bridge, walked through Hyde Park, took photos in front of the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Saint Paul’s Cathedral and Big Ben, and learned about the history of these famous sights from student presentations. We also enjoyed a very entertaining performance of “Much Ado about Nothing” at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and visited the Tate Modern and the British Museum.
In addition, the students also explored London on their own, tried new food and realized that they were all able to find their way around London and speak English not just with their teachers but also with locals whenever they got lost.
Read about students’ own experiences from London:
“The London trip was one of my favourite class trips.”
“The week in London was very cool, interesting and exciting. I don’t think I’ve spoken so much English in my whole life!”
“I liked London. It is so huge and the people are so friendly. If I could, I would live in London!”
“I was impressed by London’s modern skyline. I always thought London was only about the Big Ben, Tower Bridge, red buses and the River Thames.”
“I really liked the performance at the Globe Theatre, but the fact that we had to stand the whole time ruined it for me.”
“I loved how we got to see so many famous sights. I wish we could have gone on or inside some of the sights together, but they were so expensive.”
“I liked that we could do things on our own, but also did things with the class. I also really liked the food in London. I ate a full English breakfast, and I really enjoyed the fast-food shops.”
“My favourite place in London was our cool hotel. But I didn’t like that we had to give our phones to the teachers overnight and be in our rooms at 10 p.m.”
“London was very fun, cool and enjoyable to visit, and if I got the chance, I would always come here again.”
